We are looking for a seasoned EHS Manager with proven leadership in heavy industrial settings to oversee all Environment, Health & Safety activities across our site. This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence through a robust EHS strategy that protects our people, environment, and business continuity.
The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of EHS legislation, hands-on experience managing high-risk environments, and a strong track record of driving safety culture and regulatory compliance in dynamic, heavy-duty operational settings.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the site-wide EHS function, setting strategic goals and ensuring alignment with corporate and legal requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and programs specific to heavy industrial operations (e.g., lifting, hot works, confined spaces, machinery safety).
- Conduct and oversee high-risk risk assessments, hazard identification, and control strategies tailored to complex engineering and heavy equipment operations.
- Manage serious incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Oversee the review and approval of RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements) submitted by contractors and internal departments.
- Lead internal and external EHS audits, ensure site readiness for regulatory inspections, and address non-compliance issues effectively.
- Deliver high-impact training and toolbox talks, including onboarding, refresher training, and site-specific inductions for workers and contractors.
- Drive safety leadership engagement at all levels, promoting a proactive culture of accountability and hazard reporting.
- Analyze EHS data and trends, produce detailed reports and present KPIs to senior management.
- Oversee environmental compliance efforts related to emissions, waste management, spill response, and sustainability initiatives.
- Minimum 7+ years' EHS experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within heavy industry (construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, etc.).
- Strong command of local and EU safety and environmental legislation.
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-risk environments with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- In-depth understanding of Permit-to-Work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), lifting operations, confined space entry, and machinery safeguarding.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma, Degree/MSc in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
- Experience with ISO 45001 / 14001 / 9001 integrated management systems.
