The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the Mechanical Estimator are outlined as follows:
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimating, preferably within the water, wastewater, or construction sectors.
Proven track record in preparing detailed and accurate mechanical estimates.
- Skills:
Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and construction methods.
Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join Glanua, a leading company in the water and wastewater industry. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing analytical and precise estimates for mechanical engineering works, ensuring that all proposals are technically accurate and carry an acceptable level of risk.The Mechanical Estimator will play a crucial role in the tendering process, working closely with design, project management, and procurement teams to develop cost-effective and innovative solutions that meet client specifications.
You will be instrumental in evaluating the buildability of designs, selecting appropriate materials, and identifying opportunities for innovation. Additionally, you will provide high-level pricing information at the early stages of tenders, aiding in the optioneering and budgeting processes to ensure that Glanua offers the most competitive and efficient solutions.This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, as well as a strong grasp of the latest industry trends and technologies.
As a Mechanical Estimator at Glanua, you will also ensure that all risk and governance procedures are rigorously followed and documented, contributing to the overall success and compliance of the project.
