Contracts Manager
My client is a well-established building contractor based in Galway, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the county. I am seeking an experienced and proactive Contracts Manager to manage and coordinate the delivery of multiple construction projects across Galway and the surrounding region. This is a pivotal role within the organisation, acting as a key link between company directors, office-based staff, and on-site management teams to ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will bring leadership, coordination, and technical expertise, while ensuring compliance with all contractual and health & safety obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple live construction projects simultaneously, from start to completion.
- Act as the central liaison between directors, project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Oversee and coordinate site managers, forepersons, and trades to ensure the efficient delivery of works.
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, tracking milestones and proactively resolving issues.
- Monitor project progress, reporting weekly/monthly to the company director.
- Ensure projects meet contractual requirements, budgets, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
- Maintain and review all Health & Safety documentation in line with industry standards and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractors with support from the office team.
- Drive team performance and foster a collaborative working environment across all projects.
- Represent the company in client and stakeholder meetings, maintaining professional relationships and communication throughout.
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager or similar senior role within the construction industry.
- A strong track record delivering small to medium-scale projects is highly desirable.
- Good working knowledge of construction regulations, health & safety standards, and site management practices in Ireland.
- Technical knowledge of building methods, plant, equipment, and construction sequencing.
- Strong programming/scheduling abilities, with experience using relevant software and tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Full clean Irish driving licence essential.
