Planning Project Manager

The Project Development Manager is responsible for leading projects from early development and planning through to construction handover. This is a planning‑led project management role, requiring strong ownership of planning, permitting and stakeholder coordination, combined with end‑to‑end project management responsibility to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Development Management- Lead the preparation and review of planning and technical drawings in line with planning standards
- Manage planning applications, submissions and associated documentation
- Review, interpret and close out planning conditions on granted permissions
- Track and monitor planning applications and decisions end‑to‑end
- Coordinate preliminary layouts and development inputs for renewable energy systems
- Manage handover from project development and planning into construction teams
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities using strong project management skills
- Act as a key point of contact for clients during the planning and development stages
- Coordinate and manage external consultants including planners, designers and environmental specialists
- Maintain high standards of reporting, documentation and project administration
- Work collaboratively against agreed KPIs, project milestones and business objectives
- Communicate clearly and professionally across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Support decision‑making and risk management where programme or planning challenges arise
Qualifications
Essential- 3+ years’ experience in project development, planning or project management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar drafting tools)
- Strong MS Office and documentation skills
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Full clean driving licence
- Experience with BIM / Revit
- Experience in renewable energy projects (Solar PV, Wind, BESS, Biomass)
- Previous interaction with County Councils and planning authorities
