Our client is a long standing insurance company based in the heart of Dublin city. They have a reputation for being an employer of choice, have won several awards for their cultural, and offer a fantastic working environment with great work/life balance.

Joining a small close knit team of 5 on the infrastructure team, will be responsible for the system administration and security of the company’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity environments. You'll get exposure to technologies such as enterprise software applications, cloud-based services (Microsoft 365), virtualization technologies (Hyper-V), mobile device management, network infrastructure, cybersecurity tools, and remote support solutions, enabling you to develop a diverse skill set and stay at the forefront of emerging IT trends.

Your Responsabilities:

The day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimisation of our IT infrastructure and security systems, including servers, networks, software, firewalls, and XDR.

The reliability and availability of systems by conducting routine maintenance, upgrades, and performance tuning.

Taking responsibility for configuring, monitoring, and securing our network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, network access control, and remote connectivity.

Implementing and managing robust security measures to protect against cybersecurity threats and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Providing timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.

Utilising problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems efficiently.

Contributing to maintaining backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures to mitigate risks and minimise downtime in case of system failures or disasters.

Maintaining accurate documentation, manuals, and reports related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and training purposes.

Generating regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.

Collaborating effectively with vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and services, ensuring service level agreements are met.

Your Experience

Demonstrated experience in system, network, and security administration with a strong command of operating systems, networking protocols, and system security, preferably within the Financial Services / Insurance Industry.

A natural problem solver with a systematic approach to troubleshooting complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.

A keen understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, coupled with the ability to implement and manage robust security measures to protect our systems and data.

Attention to detail in system configurations, maintenance tasks, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all undertakings.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A team-oriented individual who thrives in collaborative environments, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in the IT field, adapting quickly to evolving technologies.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CISSP) would be advantageous
