While they are a multidisciplinary consulting firm, their principal focus is on the delivery of professional services in the areas of: building & infrastructure, energy & environment, water services and resources, project management, and general services function across each of these business areas.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join this team. It is an exciting time for the company as they enjoy a continued increase in project workload and invests heavily not only in the company but also the people that work for them.

Responsibilities:

 •  Prepare cost estimates throughout the various stages of the design and pre tender
 •  Advise the Client on procurement strategies and prepare Tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
 •  Implement Value Engineering opportunities, managing VE opportunities
 •  Assist in establishing client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies of design options and additional items
 •  Perform risk and value management and cost control
 •  Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
 •  Prepare and analyse tender costings
 •  Assist the Team in providing advice on contractual claims
 •  Value and approve completed work and certifying payments to consultants and contractors
 •  Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
 •  Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
 •  Assist the Team in managing and agreeing the final account for the projects

Requirements:

 •  BSc Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying
 •  8+ years experience in consultancy background with Irish experience preferably or UK in terms of procurement and management of projects
 •  Chartered Membership of RCSI is an advantage but guidance will be given on APC with the aim of achieving Chartership
 •  Proficient in use of Excel, Cubit and Buildsoft
 •  Attention to Detail including good presentation and writing skills
 •  Strong construction knowledge and experience in Building and Civil Works Projects
 •  Firm understanding and working experience of Contracts and Procurement methods including GCCC Contracts
