The Financial Accountant will be a member of the finance team and will be assigned the responsibility and accountability for a portfolio of entities in the group. The position will support and participate in the monthly, half year and annual consolidation and statutory reporting processes.
A dynamic role offering exposure across the entire finance function. This is a great opportunity to join one of Ireland's largest PLC’s.

Key responsibilities and duties

Month End
 •  Ownership of a portfolio of entities within the group including responsibility for completion of all month end functions in the preparation of accurate and timely management reports
 •  Responsibility for revenue recognition on forward fund and construction contracts
 •  Supporting the group reporting processes including;
 •  Assisting with the intercompany process
 •  Assisting with the consolidation process
 •  Assisting with preparation of the group month end file
 •  Preparation of monthly departmental reporting packs
 •  Participate in the monthly board reporting process
 •  Coordinate the sign off of the consolidated p&l and balance sheet within the team

Statutory, Governance & Compliance
 •  Coordinate and participate in the drafting of the single entity financial statements
 •  Participate in half year and year end reporting including financial statement preparation
 •  Liaising with the group’s internal and external auditors
 •  Assisting in the preparation of the annual report
 •  Assisting in the coordination and response to internal audit reviews
 •  Assisting in the maintenance and update of the risk register
 •  Assisting in the preparation of Audit & Risk committee presentations
 •  Assisting with routine treasury data management and compliance requirements

Budgeting & Forecasting
 •  Support the annual and quarterly budgeting and reforecasting processes
 •  Partnering with departments across the business, including providing informative analysis on margin, overhead and capex variances
 •  Collaborating with departments to efficiently complete tasks.

Other
 •  Reviewing and enhancing processes to streamline financial reporting and improve controls
 •  Providing input into Finance related projects, as required
 •  Maintain a professional image for the company in all dealings with public and stakeholders
 •  Other ad hoc duties that maybe required from time to time

Requirements
 •  Self-motivate with an eagerness to learn and develop
 •  Strong attention to detail and initiative
 •  Solution driven with an ability to problem solve
 •  Good attitude with willingness to assist and take on additional responsibilities where appropriate
 •  Ability to multi-task across several workstreams and meet deadlines
 •  Proven aptitude to work collaboratively with other people essential
 •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
 •  Fully qualified accountant with PQE
 •  Work experience (in the construction industry a positive)
 •  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Solver an advantage
