This work experience programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers that are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme.
Your eligibility for this programme will have to be verified by the Department as part of the application process. If you are in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) you will be required to transfer to a Jobseekers payment in order to participate on the programme.
Job Description
As part of the placement programme the successful participant would be trained in all aspects of the daily running and operations of a busy food production facility. As a coffee shop Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our food production team and gaining valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of food manufacturing.
This placement is designed to provide you with practical skills and knowledge in food production, hygiene management, stock management, and HACCP protocols. Hands-on experience in food production within a reputable manufacturing company. Opportunity to learn and develop skills in hygiene management, stock management, and HACCP protocols.
Exposure to industry-standard practices and procedures that can be applied in future roles within the food production industry. Supportive learning environment with guidance from experienced professionals in the field. Working as part of a team. General shop duties. Serving and assisting customers. Operating and balancing a till system. Merchandising.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.
This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
Formal Training: HACCP training - accredited
Carrying out routine operations in a production kitchen Machinery training
Standard operation procedures adherence training
Stock rotation training
Informal Training: Production flow process
Hands on production
Workspace hygiene
