WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Ornua’s sustainability team for an Operations ESG Specialist. The role will report to the Head of ESG Programme Management, working closely with Ornua’s Group ESG specialists, operational ESG leads and business units across Ornua’s global operations.
The role will manage Ornua’s operations ESG programme across 13 manufacturing sites globally, ensuring regulatory requirements and ESG performance targets are met. Key areas of focus will include Scope 1 & 2 emissions, energy efficiency, food waste, wastewater, water and waste.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Manage Ornua’s operations climate programme ensuring targets for Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction and energy efficiency are met.
• Manage Ornua’s manufacturing food waste reduction programme.
• Manage Ornua’s manufacturing water, wastewater and waste reduction programmes.
• Provide ESG support for manufacturing project implementation.
• Lead operations ESG performance and best practice sharing forums.
• Engage with site ESG leads, operations and engineering teams as well as the business operational excellence team.
• Lead ESG training and awareness programmes for operations.
• Manage setting of annual ESG budget targets for manufacturing sites.
• Support manufacturing sites in meeting ESG regulatory requirements.
• Work with the ESG reporting team to monitor and drive operations performance and communicate ESG successes internally.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
• 4+ years of experience working in sustainability, operational excellence, engineering, project management or similar roles.
• A graduate or post graduate qualification in sustainability, engineering, food science, business or related fields.
• Good knowledge of operational excellence / continuous improvement systems and tools.
• Good data management, reporting and IT skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good knowledge of food manufacturing processes and systems.
