We are seeking a dedicated Retail Assistant to join our social enterprise team at CUMAS New Ross. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully by supporting people with disabilities to gain employment in a supportive environment, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our retail and production services.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
⦁ Process customer payments efficiently, explaining all payment options.⦁ Arrange signage, adjust window displays, and maintain display shelving.
⦁ Ensure product displays are stocked, organised, and priced accurately.
⦁ Engage positively with customers and suppliers.
⦁ Input stock on the POS system and update inventory records as new products arrive.
⦁ Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
⦁ Abide by all organisational policies and procedures.
⦁ Communicate regularly with the Project Coordinator.
⦁ Contribute actively to the strategic development of the enterprise.
⦁ Ensure the values and ethos of CUMAS are reflected in all activities.
Carry out other tasks as required to support the framing area and sales department.
Desirable but not essential as training will be provided⦁ Previous experience in a retail environment but not relevant.
⦁ Experience working in a social enterprise or community-based project.
⦁ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
⦁ Knowledge of POS systems helpful but not relevant and basic IT skills.
⦁ Ability to work as part of a team while using initiative.
⦁ Awareness of health & safety and safe working practices.
⦁ Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
⦁ Commitment to promoting inclusion and supporting people with disabilities.
