Our client is a leading facilities company committed to delivering reliable, sustainable, and customer-focused solutions. They pride themselves on operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across all areas of our business.
We’re looking for a hands-on Fleet Operations Manager with a strong mechanical background to take ownership of the fleet, workshop, and yard operations. This is a key role ensuring their vehicles and plant are safe, reliable, cost-effective, and ready to support day-to-day operations.
You’ll lead a small team, work closely with operations, and play a central role in keeping the business moving.

Responsibilities: Fleet & Workshop Operations
Manage daily workshop and yard activityPlan and allocate work to meet operational priorities
Ensure servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and compliance checks are completed on time
Keep preventative maintenance schedules on track
Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
Team Leadership
Lead, motivate, and develop workshop staffSupport recruitment, onboarding, and training
Manage performance, attendance, and productivity
Promote a positive, safety-first culture
Operational Coordination
Work closely with operations to ensure fleet availabilityPrioritise fleet readiness and reduce downtime
Support breakdown response and on-call cover arrangements
Cost Control & Administration
Control maintenance budgets and manage costsMaintain accurate service, repair, and parts records
Manage suppliers and parts procurement
Approve purchase orders and support invoicing
Provide cost and performance updates to management
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Irish health & safety legislationCarry out risk assessments and enforce safe systems of work
Maintain inspection and compliance documentation
Key Requirements: Essential
Mechanical qualificationProven experience managing a workshop or fleet operation
Strong people leadership and organisational skills
Experience with fleet, plant, HGV, or heavy equipment
Good understanding of budgets, cost control, and suppliers
Strong admin, reporting, and communication skills
Desirable
Background in facilities, transport, logistics, construction, or similar sectorsKnowledge of Irish health & safety legislation
Experience with maintenance or fleet management systems
