Lab Technician – Electronics Assembly & Prototyping

Full-time, 6-month onsite contract based in Limerick, supporting hardware development, electronics assembly, and prototyping activities. The role involves hands-on PCB work, cable assembly, technical demo support, and collaboration with engineering teams in a lab environment.

• Assemble and test cable harnesses and connectors to required specifications
• Perform PCB soldering and rework, including surface mount and through-hole components
• Support the setup, preparation, and troubleshooting of electronic hardware demos
• Assist engineering teams with hardware assembly, testing, modifications, and rework activities
• Maintain lab tools, test equipment, and component inventory
• Ensure compliance with lab safety standards, documentation practices, and cleanliness requirements
• Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to support ongoing prototyping and development projects

• Qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, soldering, PCB work, and cable manufacturing
• Knowledge of PCB rework processes and soldering standards such as IPC
• Understanding of electronic components, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Experience using test equipment including multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Previous experience within a lab, manufacturing, or prototyping environment preferred
• Knowledge of ESD-safe working practices advantageous
• Exposure to Python or C/Embedded C beneficial
• Understanding of high-voltage systems desirable
• Experience with PCB design considered an advantage
