Overview

A leading medical technology organisation in the Munster region is seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of advanced electro mechanical medical devices.

The position spans the full product lifecycle, from early stage technology development through to commercialisation, within a highly regulated and quality driven environment. The role sits within a growing multidisciplinary engineering team delivering high impact healthcare products used at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and deliver electrical and electronic design activities for electro mechanical medical devices

Design electronic assemblies and printed circuit board assemblies to support new product development and lifecycle requirements
Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, systems, and quality engineering teams to ensure alignment with project schedules and budgets
Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable regulatory and safety standards including UL, IEC, and FDA requirements
Plan, design, and execute testing for EMI, EMC, safety, and manufacturability
Perform failure analysis and structured root cause investigations at system and component level
Create, review, and maintain technical documentation including specifications, test protocols, and test reports
Participate in and contribute to technical design reviews to ensure robust, safe, and compliant electrical designs

Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to knowledge sharing and team capability development

Experience and Qualifications
Level 8 degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Five to seven years industry experience in a similar electronic engineering role
Strong experience in analogue, digital, and mixed signal circuit design
Previous experience in the medical device sector is a strong advantage
Good knowledge of product design controls, EMC testing, and regulated documentation practices
Experience working in a regulated engineering environment with robust quality and compliance requirements

Strong problem solving skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in cross functional teams
