Assistant Lecturer in Creative Writing (5 Year Fixed Term Wholetime) Reference: 125a/2026

The role arises from the commencement of a new four-year Bachelor of Arts programme in September 2026. This programme is a Liberal Arts degree which has been in development since 2022, providing a distinctive new offering in the Irish higher education landscape and contains majors and minors throughout the university.

This role would contribute to the general education delivery on the Arts programme and would have the opportunity of designing a Creative Writing Minor and Major for future years of the offering.

The Assistant Lecturer in Creative Writing will be centrally involved in the delivery of the Arts programmes through the development and teaching of modules in Creative Writing to Arts programme students with the potential to expand this into other areas over time as needs evolve.

Hours of Work: This is a wholetime post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 18 hours per week) is in operation.

Location: The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e. Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght. Regular attendance at other sites will be required.

Salary:
The Assistant Lecturer Salary Scale is:
  • 47,572 - € 64,372 New Entrants
It is expected that appointees will commence at point 1 of the Assistant Lecturer pay scale.

Unless the arrangements set out in Circular Letter IT 01/05 apply.
