TECHNICAL DELIVERY MANAGER/ IT PROJECT MANAGER (CONTRACT)

We're looking for an IT Project Manager/ for the Technology Infrastructure Department to join our client's team! They are our key financial client who are based in Dublin 2 offering hybrid work model and a competitive package.
This role is for an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead infrastructure delivery for a financial services organisation. Excellent stakeholder management skills are required, including working closely with senior leadership, traders, infrastructure teams, application owners, and governance bodies.The project manager must also manage cross-functional teams globally, addressing time zone differences, regional variations, and remote collaboration challenges. The role will also involve effective budget management to ensure financial oversight, cost control, and alignment with project funding constraints.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The infrastructure delivery for front office, back office, and trading desks is crucial for keeping the organisation secure, compliant, and competitive. This role aims to minimise disruption and ensure seamless delivery across all EMEA locations.Upgrading our infrastructure will provide enhanced security, compliance, and operational efficiency, boosting employee productivity and performance.
Key stakeholders: Senior Leadership, Traders, Trade Floor Desk Heads, Business Users, IT Infrastructure, Infrastructure Operations, Security, Applications and Production Support Teams, Regional (EMEA) IT teams, infrastructure Project Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute a detailed project plan using Agile methodologies, including milestones, risk assessments, and contingency strategies. Ensure flexibility for continuous improvement and adjustments based on feedback.
- Project Governance and Reporting: Establish governance frameworks and provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Technical Coordination: Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Infrastructure Operations, Security, Applications and Production Support Teams, Regional (EMEA) IT teams, and Business Units to ensure seamless delivery to infrastructure.
- Oversee scope definition and control, ensuring deliverables remain aligned with agreed requirements and preventing scope creep throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and execute project plans for infrastructure projects across the EMEA region, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns and provide regular status and risk updates, maintaining transparent communication with Infra leads, senior leadership and governance boards.
- Define and track KPI's, SLAs and key milestones, ensuring project success is measurable and auditable.
- Identify potential risks (Compatibility, Performance, Security, Resourcing), develop delivery strategies, and manage escalations / issues.
- Work closely with Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, Application Teams and Infrastructure Teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project plans, test results, risk logs and contingency measures, reporting back to senior stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring financial tracking, cost optimisation, and adherence to approved funding.
- Experienced in IT Project Management & Governance: Managed delivery of infrastructure projects in financial services using Agile and Waterfall methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Risk Management: Prioritised zero downtime and business continuity through thorough testing, backup plans, and coordination with relevant teams.
- Collaboration and Communication: Worked closely with trading desks, infrastructure, and application support teams to ensure smooth transitions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conducted stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for clear communication with senior stakeholders.
- Success involves navigating complex structures, influencing stakeholders, and driving consensus for secure and compliant deliveries.
- Ideally 5+ years of IT project management experience in enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Watrefall methodologies, applying best practice based on project needs.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience in steering committee reporting, stakeholder engagement and senior management communication.
- Ability to provide high-level reporting to senior leadership and governance boards.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, compliance, risk management, and change management.
- Experience managing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams, ensuring smooth collaboration.
- Ability to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks associated with systems deliveries.
- Strong incident management and escalation handling experience in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to develop and execute failback plans, rollback procedures and business continuity strategies.
- Experience in Financial Services or other regulated industries.
