Assistant Branch Manager

Our client is a well-established builders providers serving the construction and DIY sectors across Munster for over 90 years. They pride themselves on offering a comprehensive range of high-quality building materials, home improvement products, and expert advice to both trade professionals and homeowners.

They are now seeking an experienced, sales-driven, and high motivated Assistant Branch Manager to support the day-to-day operations of their busy branch in Charleville.

Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will help ensure operational excellence, outstanding service delivery, and continued commercial growth.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the Branch Manager & Senior Management key responsibilities include:
  • Support a high-performing branch operation, overseeing sales, customer service, stock control, opening/closing procedures, and logistics
  • Lead, motivate, and train staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences and uphold company standards
  • Assist with inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
  • Drive sales performance through proactive customer engagement and business development initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and internal policies
  • Deputise for the Branch Manager as required, maintaining operational continuity
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Lead the trade counter team to maximise sales opportunities within the branch

Skills & Experience that we need:

  • Proven supervisory or management experience within builders’ providers, construction supply, or a related industry
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organisational abilities
  • Strong product knowledge of building materials and related trades
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to exceptional service
  • Strong commercial awareness and proven sales experience
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and relevant POS/inventory systems
  • Full, clean driving licence

The Offer:

This onsite role is offered on a permanent basis with excellent salary per annum, depending on the candidate’s experience, plus bonus and excellent benefits package.

Hours of work: 8.00am-5.30pm with the availability to work on some Saturdays required.
