This is a wonderful opportunity for a strong Payroll Specialist to join the finance team of a renowned name within the medical sector.

Location: based in Dublin West area with easy access to Rail, Luas and bus

You will work as part of the Finance team taking full ownership of the payroll function. Dealing with end-to-end payroll processing, BIKs, payroll reporting and queries. This role will suit someone who likes to manage their own time day and desk whist working as part of the wider finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and working closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. The payroll function is currently outsourced, with plans for the successful candidate to transition it back in-house.

The role will involve managing payroll for 400-500 employees across Ireland, as well as a smaller UK payroll.

Responsibilities:

  • Download, review, validate, and approve time and attendance data, preparing payroll submissions for an outsourced payroll provider
  • Ensure full compliance with Irish payroll legislation, including tax, pensions, BIK, and other statutory obligations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll and employee records
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees, providing clear explanations and timely resolutions
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll integration and data accuracy
  • Carry out payroll audits and investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end and year-end payroll reporting
  • Prepare payroll journals for posting to finance systems
  • Keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practice within the healthcare sector
Qualifications & Experience
  • IPASS qualification (or equivalent) is essential
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' end to end payroll processing experience within a large organisation (300 + employees) is required
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and taxation
  • Experience with Sage Payroll (Micropay)
  • Experience using Softworks Time & Attendance is desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Confident communicator, comfortable handling employee queries professionally
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
