Assistant Operations Manager

A long-established Irish business is seeking a Assistant Operations Manager to support the day-to-day leadership of its Naas operation.
This is a key second-in-command role, with full operational responsibility for the Steel Department, working closely with and deputising for the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and control daily operations within the Steel Department
- Act as Number 2 in the branch, supporting the Operations Manager across all operational activities
- Drive efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage stock control, order fulfilment, and logistics
- Monitor KPIs and operational performance metrics
- Lead, coach, and develop operational staff
- Work closely with internal sales teams to ensure high customer service standards
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, regulatory, and company policies
- Proven experience in operations, branch or depot management, or senior supervisory roles
- Background in building materials and construction related products
- Confident decision-maker with a hands-on leadership style
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and operational workflows
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment
